Miss Mardese Burnett, seaman, first class, in the WAVES, who is spending a week'd leave here, and her brother, Edwin Burnett, fire controlman, first class, are both assigned to posts in Washington, D.C. Their parents are Mr. and Mrs. L.E. Burnett, 1923 Division street.
Miss Burnett, who is serving as a key punch operator on her naval duty, left for training at Hunter college in August, 1944. She had been employed at the Rock Island arsenal and at the Petersen Harned Van Maur department store.
Edwin Burnett is in his seventh year of service in the navy and has been stationed in Washington since August.
