Kenneth Owen Burkheimer was born Apr. 12, 1919 to Chester F. and Lavina Frances Bush Burkheimer. He died Jan. 8, 2003 and is buried in Desert Lawn Cemetery, Calimesa, CA.
Capt. Burkheimer served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps as a pilot of a B-17 flying Fortress that crash landed in the Straits of Dover in the midst of a Nazi mine field. They were picked up by a British motor torpedo boat which threaded its way through the mine field.
