Lowell Claire Buchmiller was born Oct. 5, 1922 to Fred F. and Mabel C. Moore Buchmiller. He died Dec. 14, 1944 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Cambridge American Cemetery, Cambridge, England and at Jefferson Cemetery, Jefferson, IA.
Lt. Buchmiller served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 62nd Fighter Squadron, 56th Fighter Group and was MIA/lost at sea and awarded the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster.
