John William Barnette was born Nov. 20, 1918 to Arley William and Virginia M. “Vergie” Ashworth Barnette. He died Dec. 2, 1965 and is buried in Hillsboro Memorial Cemetery, Brandon, FL.
Sgt. Barnette served with the U.S. Army Cannon Company, 259th Infantry in World War II. He was awarded the Bronze Star.
