Walter Bruce Barnes was born Dec. 7, 1910 to Elbert M. and Helen S. Stephenson Barnes. He died June 6, 1972 and is buried in Loma Vista Memorial Park, Fullerton, CA.
Pvt. Barnes served in World War II with the U.S. Army in the Pacific area. He was awarded the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Theater ribbon with two battle stars and the Philippine Liberation ribbon with a battle star for Luzon.
