Claude I. Burr was born Sept. 9, 1911 to Lewis Grover and Ida Taylor Burr. He died July 9, 1980 and was buried in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, IA.
Sgt. Burr served with the U.S. Army in World War II.

Claude Burr, 68, of Rural Route 5, Fort Dodge, a former Webster City businessman, died suddenly yesterday afternoon after having suffered a heart attack at West Twin Park in this city.
Two policemen called to the park after a witness saw Mr. Burr drive up to the park on a motorcycle, park it and sit down under a tree, found him lying on his side in apparent cardiac arrest. Senior Patrolman Ken Aldridge and Patrolman Jon Leu performed CPR methods until the fire department rescue squad arrived and transported him to the hospital. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the Foster Funeral home with Clayton W. Kent officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.
Claude Burr was born Sept. 9, 1911 at Thompson, Ill., the son of Lewis and Iva Taylor Burr. The family moved to Iowa when he was a child. He was reared and educated at Jewell and Webster City.
He was married to Anneva Brownfield Dec. 31, 1921 at Webster City and from 1941 to his retirement in 1971, due to ill health, he owned and operated the Burr Floor Service. For the past few years he had resided in Arizona in the winter and at Fort Dodge in the summer.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Marlowe Burr of Fort Dodge; one daughter, Mrs. Keith (Karen) Powell of Hiawatha, Iowa; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; two brothers, Forrest Burr of Des Moines and a twin brother, Clyde Burr of San Bernardino, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Earl (Ethyl) Maggard of Fowler, Colo.
He was preceded in death by an infant son; both parents and one brother.
He was a member of the Church of Christ in Webster City.
