Norman Joseph Bruning was born Aug. 22, 1922 to Joseph and Clara Schaefer Bruning. He died May 27, 1944 and is buried in Saint Bernards Cemetery, Breda, IA.
Sgt. Bruning served with the U.S. Army Air Crops 510th Bomb Squadron and was KIA as machine gunner on the B-17 “Queen of the Air”, serial number 42-31975 that was shot down by an ME 109 German fighter.
