Melvin Harry Brown was born Jan. 4, 1920 to George and Nell Kaster Brown. He died Mar. 30, 1993 and is buried in Cass Center Cemetery, Webster City, IA.

Son of George and Nell (Kaster) Brown. On Nov. 23, 1946, he married Evelyn O’Connor at Webster City. The couple farmed in the Webster City area and for 4 years in the Boone area. In 1956, they returned to farm west of Webster City. They later retired and moved in town.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; daughters, Marilyn Hamman and Kathy Clemons, both of Des Moines; four granddaughters and one great-grandson; one brother, George Brown, Stanhope; four sisters, Lois Zimmerman, Des moines, Mildred Van Sickle, Jewell, Nellie Bryan, Webster City, and Audrey Brown, Webster City.
