ORDER SELECTEES TO REPORT ON THURSDAY, FEB. 11
Another large group of Sioux County men will leave for Army examination on Thursday, Feb. 11, it is announced by the Sioux County Local Board. If the men are found to be qualified for army service, they may return home for a week's furlough before being called for active duty. The group is larger than had been expected to be called at this time. Men listed for induction with this group are as follows:

PFC Lester Brommer arrived here early Sunday morning from Tyler, Texas where he is stationed with the army. He is in the Signal Corps attached to the Air Force and likes his work very much. Lester has been in the army four months, will go back Saturday night. He has six weeks more of schooling in his present course.

A-S LESTER BROMMER
A-S Lester Brommer, son of Mrs. Jennie Brommer Heemstra, entered the army February, 1943. He is a radio operator in the Air Corp and has been at Tyler, Texas until recently when he was transferred to Chattanooga, Tenn. He had an eight day furlough the last week in June. His new address is: 45th C.T.D. Sq. A, University of Chattanooga, Chattanooga, Tenn.

LES BROMMER BREAKS ARM
A-S Lester Brommer is in a hospital in Chattanooga, Tenn. with a broken arm and fractured wrist. Les was taking part in a gas mask practice when his mask steamed up and he couldn't see. As a result he fell on a railroad tie and broke his arm and wrist. He was supposed to start flying this week Saturday but will now be delayed until he has recovered from his injuries.

Lester Brommer arrived home this week on a fifteen day furlough. He has his arm in a cast, having broken it recently. Lester is now stationed at Chattanooga, Tenn. and will start flying as soon as he returns and his arm is healed.

A/C Lester Brommer has had the cast removed from his arm which was broke several weeks ago at Chattanooga, Tenn., but will be unable to start his flight training for a few more weeks as he is still taking treatments to get his arm back to normal.

Pfc. Lester Brommer has been assigned to the AAF Training Command Radio School at the Sioux Falls army air field, for training as a radio operator-mechanic. Upon completion of a 26 week course, he will be fully trained to take his place as a member of a highly skilled bomber crew of the army air forces. Former S. C. Serviceman Takes Bride
A wedding of interest to the people of this community took place at three o'clock Tuesday afternoon when the marriage of Miss Marion Trannes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Trannes of Sheldon, Iowa and Sgt. Lester Brommer, son of Mrs. Henry Heemstra also of Sheldon took place at the Alamogordo Army Air Base chapel at Alamogordo, New Mexico. ....
.... The groom is well known to the Sioux Center people. He is a graduate of the local public school, attended Western Union College at LeMars for one year and is at the present time a radio operator on a B-29 stationed at Alamogordo, New Mexico.
