Robert Karl Briggs was born Aug. 24, 1922 to John W. and Emma Clara Niewoehner Briggs. He died Apr. 29, 1945 and is buried in Union Mound Cemetery, Sumner, IA.
Lt. Briggs served with the U.S. Army 38th Infantry, 2nd Division in World War II. He died in the U.S. Army Hospital in Germany of wounds received in the service of his country.
