Maris Donald ‘Brandy’ Brandrup, Jr. was born Feb. 9, 1924 to Maris Donald (Sr.) and Marjorie J. McPhillips Brandrup. He died Feb. 4, 1982 and is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, IA.

Don (Brandy) Brandrup, 57, lifelong Webster City resident, died Thursday evening at the Hamilton county hospital. He had been a patient there for three weeks but in ill the past two and one-half years.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran church with the Rev. Raymond Roden and Rev. David R. LaMaster officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.
Flag-folding services will be conducted by American Legion Post 191. Friends may call after 5 p.m. today until 10 a.m. Monday at the Foster Funeral home at which time the casket will be taken to the church.
Maris Donald Brandrup, Jr., son of Maris and Jean McPhillips Brandrup, was born Feb. 9, 1924, at Webster City and was reared and educated here.
He attended Webster City Junior college. On June 20, 1943, he was married to Lorraine Ehlert at Bethany, Mo.
After their marriage, he entered the U.S. Army Air Corps and served for two and one-half years, being located in the Pacific War Theatre.
After returning to Webster City, he worked for two and one-half years at the Foster Funeral home and attended the Hohenshuh-Carpenter College of Embalming at St. Louis, graduating in 1946. He had been a licensed funeral director in Iowa since that time.
He had served as superintendent of the Graceland cemetery in Webster City for the past 32 years.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine, two sons, Mike Brandrup, and daughter-in-law, Pat Brandrup, of Webster City, and John Brandrup of Webster City, and two granddaughters, Paula and Holly Brandrup; his mother, Mrs. Jean Brandrup Broadway, and her husband, Frank Broadway, of Tucson, Ariz.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran church.
Mr. Brandrup was a ,ember of the Webster City jockey Leafs which won the state title two times, in 1942 and 1945.
He was also a member of the Elks club, the American Legion, Moose lodge, the Webster City Country club, and was on the board of directors of the Iowa Cemetery association and a member of the CSP club.
