IOWA’s HONOR ROLL
Here are more Iowans who have been killed in action. The final line beneath each picture gives the geographical location in which the man was killed. Additional Honor Roll pictures will be carried on future Sundays.

Harry Fredrick Bradshaw was born Oct. 15, 1921 to Ray and Macie Cahal Bradshaw. He died May 7, 1942 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines and has a cenotaph in Oak Hill Cemetery, Benton County, IA. He is also honored on the list of survivors inscribed at the USS Arizona Memorial in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Petty Officer Bradshaw served aboard the USS Arizona (BB-39) and was aboard when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. He was among the survivors. After the sinking, he joined the crew of the USS Neosho (AO-23) where he was KIA during the Battle of the Coral Sea. He was buried at sea and awarded the Purple Heart.
*"It is interesting to note that Harry's cenotaph does not mention the U.S.S. Arizona. Many people in Harry's hometown, and even the local newspaper, were unaware that he was aboard the U.S.S. Arizona during the attack on Pearl Harbor. Like many who survived, Harry did not talk about the events of that day, but carried what he had witnessed in his heart. He chose to remain in service, fighting in remembrance and honor of his lost comrades. Harry's dedication, and his sacrifice, were great.”*
