Norman A. Bloomquist, 91, of Webster City, died Thursday, March 31, 2005 at the Southfield Wellness Community. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Faith United Methodist Church with Rev. Brian Carter and Sue Enzian, lay minister officiating. Burial will be at 9:00 a.m. Saturday at Graceland Cemetery with graveside military rites conducted by the American Legion Post #491 of Duncombe. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Faith United Methodist Church, 2020 Superior Street. Foster Funeral & Cremation Center, Webster City has been entrusted with arrangements.
Norman Albert Bloomquist, son of Oscar and Grace Schultz Bloomquist, was born on July 14, 1913 at Lundgren, Iowa. He received his education from the Lundgren area schools. He served in the U. S. Army during W.W. II. On February 14, 1945, he married Eva Halliday at the Little Brown Church. The couple resided on a farm at Flugstad, Iowa where Mr. Bloomquist farmed. In 1973, they moved to Duncombe. He continued to work on the farm. He had been residing at Southfield since September of 2003.
He is survive by his wife, Eva Bloomquist of Webster City, daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Russell Harms of Duncombe, Nancy and Brad Iles of Webster City, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one step granddaughter and sister Eleanor Halliday of Humboldt.
Mr. Bloomquist was preceded in death by his parents, daughters, Suzanne Fleshman and in infancy, Kathy Bloomquist: brothers, Donald, Harold, and Earl Bloomquist, and sisters, Fern Warland and Norma Clark.
He was a member of the Duncombe United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post #491 of Duncombe.
