Alvin William Block was born Sept. 6, 1916 to William F. and Theressa Perlest Block. He died Jan. 3, 1970 and is buried in Parkers Grove Cemetery, Shellsburg, IA.
Pvt. Block served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 3501st Base Unit.
