Robert Lee Blacksmith was born Mar. 26, 1921 to Tony E. and Mabel M. Blacksmith. He died Dec. 15, 1945 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.
Petty Officer Blacksmith served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Langley (AV-3) and became MIA/KIA in enemy action in the Pacific. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
