Gerald Byron Blackman was born Aug. 26, 1920 to Byron Scott and Gladys Irene Hanson Blackman. He died Apr. 12, 2013 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion, IA.
Lt. Commander Blackman enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during World War II. He was a pilot, flying both the F6F Hellcat and F4U Corsair fighter planes.
