John Raymond Bell was born Apr. 3, 1924 to John C. and Minnie Barbara Robinson Bell. He died Apr. 2, 1993 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Jewell, IA.
John served with the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II.

Son of John C. & Minnie (Robinson) Bell was born on a farm north of Blairsburg. He married on Dec. 16, 1945 to Dorothy Parrish in Des Moines, the couple farmed in the Webster City & Blairsburg area until 1963 when they moved to Ellsworth, still farming and established Bell Truck Lines. In 1966, he became manager of the Amoco Oil Fertilizer Plant in Jewell, In 1970, the couple moved to Jewell where he still managed the Amoco Oil Fertilizer Plant until retiring in 1974 due to a heart condition. His wife died May 29, 1989. On Dec. 29, 1990, He married Doris Rude at Jewell and the couple continued to reside in Jewell.
He is survived by his wife Doris; sons & daughters-in-law, John Ross & Debbye Bell of Saugus, Calif., Thomas Ray & Roxanne Bell of Jewell, Dennis Lee & Rhonda Bell of Jesup; daughter & son-in-law, Kristin Kay and Mike Sogard of Jewell; step-daughter, Ada Tjernagel of Story City; step-sons, George Rude, Hudson, Tim Rude, Des Moines, Mike Rude, Ankeny and Tom Rude, Grinnell; 8 grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren; 2 g-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Grove, Lucille Vegors, and Ada Janson, all Webster City. Besides he first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Melvin and Wilbur; and sister, Beulah Schroder.
