Cushing, Iowa—Robert R. Baumann, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred W. Baumann of Cushing, was awarded the wings of a navy pilot and was commissioned an ensign on April 4 when he graduated with a class of 165 of Corpus Christi, Texas. Ensign Baumann and his wife are spending his 20-day leave with relatives.

Robert Ray Baumann was born Apr. 16, 1922 to Frederick W. and Edna Arp Baumann. He died June 8, 2004 and is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Chadron, NE.
