Gerald Richard Bauer was born Sept. 20, 1917 to Jacob E. and Frances Ann Bauer. He died Nov. 25, 1944 and is buried in Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.
Sgt. Bauer served with the U.S. Army in World War II with the U.S. Army 46th Engineer Construction Battalion and died of wounds received in action on Leyte. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
