Howard Frazier Austin was born Mar. 16, 1908 to Homer Clarence and Mary Jane Austin. He died Mar. 19, 1991 and is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, IA.
Howard served with the U.S. Army in World War II.

Howard Austin, 83, of Webster City died Tuesday afternoon, March 19 at the Hamilton County Hospital.
Funeral services will be Thursday, March 21 at 1:30 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Ripley officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Graveside flag folding will be conducted by American Legion Post 191.
Visitation will be at Foster Funeral Home after 5 p.m. today (Wednesday, March 20) until the time of service.
Howard Frazier Austin, son of Homer and Mary Butler Austin, was born March 16, 1908 at Lampson, Wis.
He attended rural schools in Wisconsin, and moved to Webster City in 1919. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1927, and also attended Webster City Junior College for one year.
On Feb. 16, 1941, her married Fern Smith at Eagle Grove. Upon returning to Webster City, he was employed at City Scales until 1948. He was employed at Naden Industries until retiring in 1975.
Following the death of his wife in December of 1977, he continued to reside in Webster City.
He served with the U.S. Army prior to and also during World War II.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara (Mrs. Gary) Loder of Webster City; three sons, Dennis of Iowa City, Donald of Webster City and Roger of Burnsville, Minn.; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, three sisters and two half-brothers.
He was a member of the Senior Citizen Club of Webster City and also belonged to Senior Bowlers.
