PFC. Gerald C. Atha Wounded in Action
Pfc. Gerald C. Atha, 25, was wounded in action Mar. 21, in Germany, the War Department has notified his wife, Mrs. Anna Atha, Huxley, Ia. Private Atha is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Atha, 5020 Douglas ave.
He attended North high school and was employed by the Des Moines Railway Co., before entering the army last June. He was sent overseas with an infantry unit in October. Private Atha suffered a back wound and is in a hospital.
