Max Eugene Akers was born July 1, 1924 to Clarence Derwent and Florence Marie Clark Akers. He died Nov. 19, 2002 and is buried in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, Des Moines, IA.
Cpl. Akers served in the U.S. Army in World War II with the 97th M.P. Platoon, 97th Infantry Division.
