Donald James Adkins was born Dec. 12, 1924 to Robert D. and Amy Lewis Adkins. He died Mar. 19, 1945 and is buried at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii.
Petty Officer Adkins served in World War II with the U.S. Navy and was MIA/KIA aboard the USS Franklin (CV-13) in the Pacific and was awarded the Purple Heart.
