Billy Adams was born Sept. 15, 1922 to Merle William “Bill" and Della Ann Boyles Adams. He died Mar. 6, 1944 and is buried in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Sigourney, IA.
Sgt. Adams served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 579th Bomb Squadron, 392nd Bomb Group, 8th Air Force and was KIA in England when his plane (B-24H #42-7473) crashed on take-off in poor weather conditions on a mission to Genshagen.
