IN UNIFORM
Pfc. Norman Young, son of Mrs. Anna Young, 123 Perry street, is spending a 30-day furlough at home after 28 months of service in the Pacific. He enlisted here and was trained in San Diego with a group of Sioux Cityans including John Burns Carey, Bob Gleason, Bob Ellerd, Jim Elder, and Stanley Sewell. Private Young saw service at Samoa, Hawaii, the Solomons, the Marshalls, Guam and the Mariannas. Since his return to the United States in November, he has been stationed in San Diego. He will report at Earle, N. J., for reassignment.

Norman Leo Young was born July 1, 1917 to Phillip J. and Anna Steinford Young. He died Jan. 21, 1970 and is buried in Saint Catherine Cemetery, Oyens, IA.
