2nd Lt. Joseph F. Wilson, 29, was killed in action with the 7th army in France Dec. 16, his mother, Mrs. Charles J. Wilson, 1008 Eighth avenue, has been notified by the war department.

Memorial Mass for Lt. Wilson
Msgr. Jams P. Danahey will celebrate mass for 2nd Lt. Joseph F. Wilson, 29, at 8 a. m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, at St. Francis Xavier’s Catholic church.
Lt. Wilson, son of Mrs. Charles J. Wilson, 1008 Eighth avenue, was killed in action with the seventh army in France Dec. 16, his family was informed this week.
A veteran of the Italian campaign and North African campaign, he had been overseas since Oct. of 1942. Wearer of the bronze star, he was a graduate of St. Francis academy.
Besides his mother, Lt. Wilson is survive by three brothers, Bernard Wilson of Los Angeles, Calif., Charles Wilson of San Francisco, Calif., Pvt. Donald Wilson at Berkeley, Tex.; five sisters, Mrs. Arthur Jensen of Council Bluffs, Mrs. Wayne Osborne of Council Bluffs, Mrs. Lester Grandmeier of Hooper, neb., Mrs. Frank Connelly, and Mrs. W. E. Hall of Chicago.

Joseph Francis Wilson was born Feb. 10, 1915 to Charles J. and Mary Quinn Wilson. He died Dec. 16, 1944 and is buried in Epinal American Cemetery, Dinoze, France.
2nd Lt. Wilson served in World War II with the U.S. Army 30th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division and was KIA in France. He was awarded the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Distinguished Service Cross, and French Croix de Guerre.
