Lt. James G. Whiting finished his tour of duty March 14, flying about 120 sorties over enemy territory according to word received here this week by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Whiting. He will be given home leave soon and may be on his way back to the States now from Italy.

James Giddings Whiting was born Sept. 19, 1919 to Charles G. and Agnes Hester Whiting. He died June 15, 1988 and is buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Mapleton, IA.
