DeWayne White Wounded in Action
Pvt. DeWayne White recently suffered injuries while serving with the U. S. Army in the South Pacific area. A bullet which struck a cigarette case in his breast pocket, glanced off and passed through his arm. He was taken to a hospital ship and there his wound was dressed by none other than his fellow-townsman, Ph. M. Jean Mather. Not only did Jean give his wounds excellent care, but when off duty the boys enjoyed many chats about home.
