Walter R. Thoreson called to Service
as First Lieutenant
KANAWHA – Lieut. Walter R. Thoreson of Kanawha has received word to report for active duty Tuesday at Camp Shelby, Miss. He will be inducted as a first lieutenant, having received his training at South Dakota State college at Brookings, and Fort Snelling, Minn.
Thoreson for the past four years has been the Smith-Hughes instructor in the Kanawha public school. William Cory, who graduated from Iowa State college at Ames, has been hired to fill the vacancy. Mrs. Thoreson will accompany her husband to Mississippi. The Thoresons have been honored at several farewell parties.
