Pfc. Carling Synstelun, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Synstelun, of Petersburg, left for his camp in Texas Thursday after spending a 34-day leave at home.

Carling Obert SYNSTELIEN was born June 26, 1921 to Elvin and Amanda Dalager Synstelien. He died Sept. 4, 1988 and is buried in Riverside Cemetery, Jackson, MN.
Carling served with the U.S. Army in World War II.
