Eugene Strassel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude E. Strassel, 921 28th street, who was inducted into the army May 7, has passed his examination for the air corps and has been sworn in. At present he is awaiting his call to report as an aviation cadet.

Eugene Strassel, who was inducted into the Army May 7, has received orders to report Saturday in Omaha. From there he expects to be sent to Sheppard field, Texas, as an aviation cadet.

Gene Strassel, Army air forces navigation cadet, has been spending a 21-day furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Strassel, 919 28th street. He left Thursday evening for San Antonio, Tex., where he will resume his training. He expects to be graduated and commissioned in about six months. Gene, a former Central high student, entered the air forces in his senior year at the age of 18. He has spent a year in the Army.
