RECEIVES WINGS
Douglas Army Air Field, Ariz., Aug. 4.—A graduate of advanced pilot training class 44-G, Marvin Smits, of Maurice, Iowa, today received his wings and commission as a second lieutenant in the Army Air Forces.
Lieut. Smits, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Smits, Maurice, Iowa, graduated from Maurice Public high school. Before entering military service, he was a student at Northwestern Jr. College at Orange City, Ia.
