LESLIE (“BUD”) SMITH—Son of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Smith of LeMars, and is a corporal at Fort Lewis, Washington, where is a motor technician. He was drafted in 1941 from California and in February of this year was home on furlough, the first time he has been in LeMars for five years. Most of his work in Fort Lewis is with trucks.

Leslie Harold Smith was born Mar. 22, 1909 to Robert Henry and Rose Belle Ruckle Smith. He died July 22, 1984 and is buried in Memorial Cemetery, LeMars, IA.
