IN UNIFORM
Paul H. Schurke, son of Mrs. Edith B. Schurke, 2024 Pierce street, has been promoted to staff sergeant, according to word received from the 14th armored division of the Seventh army in France. Sgt. Schurke has been serving overseas since October, 1944. He attended the Kasson, Minn., high school.

Sgt. Paul H. Schurke, son of Mrs. Edith B. Schurke, 2024 Pierce street, has been awarded the good conduct medal, according to information received here. Sgt. Schurke entered the Army service in December, 1942, and has been serving in France with the 14th armored division, field artillery battalion, since October, 1944.
