Memorial Services Planned Sunday for
Pvt. Floyd Schmidt
Memorial services for Pvt. Floyd Schmidt will be conducted at 2:30 p. m. Sunday in First Lutheran church, with Rev. H. H. Diers, pastor, officiating.
Private Schmidt was killed in action during the latter part of last August [26] in France where he was serving as a technician with a medical detachment of the Second army.
The church junior choir will sing “The Holy City” by Adams and members of the American Legion post here will present the colors and sound “Taps.”
Private Schmidt was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry P. Schmidt, 349 Albany street.

Floyd Carl Fritz Schmidt was born Jan. 26, 1924 to Henry P. and Anna Ella Brunscheon Schmidt. He died Aug. 26, 1944 and is buried in Brittany American Cemetery, Montjoie Saint Martin, France.
Pvt. Schmidt served in World War II with the U.S. Army 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division and was awarded the Purple Heart and Silver Star.
