NEWS From Uncle Sam's Nephews and Nieces
Mrs. Pearl Schaefer of Charles City, a former resident of Greene, received a letter recently from her son, Private First Class Juel V. Schaefer, who has been stationed in New Guinea since November, 1943. He wrote that he had been released from the hospital where he had been for a month recovering from wounds received in an accident. Juel’s brother, Bert Schaefer, was inducted into the Army last Thursday and is now at Camp Dodge.
