ST. ANSGAR—Cpl. Douglas Roll, son of Mr. and Mrs. D. O. Roll, has been discharged from the Army. He was in service three years and spent two years with the Eighth air force in England.

Douglas Oscar (Doug) Roll, Jr. was born Mar. 2, 1922 to Douglas Oscar (Sr.) and Hilda Fern Day Roll. He died Aug. 2, 2009 and is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Mitchell, IA.
Doug served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 571st Bomb Squadron, 390th Bomb Group (H) and flew with B-17 (#388) “Cabin in the Sky.”
