Sgt. Leroy D. Robbins, son of Mrs. C. E. Robbins, 2825 Dupont street, is stationed at the army ground and service forces redistribution station at Miami Beach, Fla. He recently returned to the States after serving for 33 months as section ammunition chief in the southwest Pacific. While overseas, Sgt. Robbins was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific campaign ribbon with two battle stars, the American defense campaign ribbon, and the combat infantryman’s badge. Before entering the service on October 1, 1941, he was employed by the Cook Paint and Varnish Company.

Leroy Dick Robbins was born Nov. 23, 1919 to Chester E. and Ida Mamie Moss Robbins. He died Mar. 23, 2002 and is buried in Masonic Cemetery, Des Moines, IA.
Leroy served with the U.S. Army in World War II.
