PFC. W. P. RENNE DIES IN ACTION
Sioux Cityan Was Serving with Glider Infantry Division
Pfc. Wayne P. Renne, 20, serving with a glider infantry division, was killed in action in Germany March 24, according to a telegram from the War Department received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Renne, 814 Goldie avenue.
Pfc. Renne went overseas in August 1944 and according to letters which he wrote to his parents, saw action in Luxembourg in January and February, after which he was sent to a rest camp in France. He rejoined his division just prior to his death.
Born January 30, 1925, he attended school at Riverview, West Junior and Central high school. He enlisted in the army March 24, 1943, and trained at Camp MacKall, N. C. and Camp Forest, Tenn.
He is survived by his parents and two sisters, Marjorie and Maylou.
