Staff Sergeant James R. Piper, son of Mrs. Everett Piper, 101 ½ S. Westcott Street, has returned to Camp San Luis Obispo, California, after spending a 10-day furlough with his mother.

IN UNIFORM
S. Sgt. James R. Piper, who has been stationed with the air corps overseas for eight months, has returned and will visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Piper, 3134 46th avenue, after a short stay at the reception center at Jefferson Barracks, Mo. He served with the Eighth air force as a gunner on a B-24 and a B-17.

S. Sgt. James R. Piper, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Piper, 3134 Fourth Avenue place, is home en route to receive his discharge from the army air corps. Sgt. Piper has returned from England where he was a gunner on a B-17 and received the air medal, oak leaf clusters, and other citations. He enlisted in 1940.
