Jack Perrin Killed in Plane Crash
Lt. Jack W. Perrin, 26, formerly of Waterloo, was killed Wednesday afternoon at Mena, Ark., when the army trainer he was flying crashed while he was en route from a visit in his parents’ home in Minneapolis, Minn., to his base at Selman field, Monroe, La., relatives here learned Thursday.
Lieutenant Perrin resided here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Perrin, from 1929 to 1933, attending West side school. From here the family moved to Minneapolis where in 1939 he was married to Sydney Swallen, who has been residing with him at Monroe.
Surviving besides his wife and parents are four brothers; Ted L. Perrin, 320 Williston avenue, Waterloo; William D. Perrin, formerly of 325 Derbyshire road; Waterloo, now in naval training at Farragut, Ida.; Ensign Frank W. Perrin, stationed as flight instructor at Corpus Christi, Tex.; and Richard L. Perrin and a sister, Jean, both in Minneapolis.
The body is being shipped to Minneapolis. Funeral arrangements have not been made as the family is awaiting word from relatives.
