Carl D. Paulson, son of Mrs. John Chamberlain, 2201 Casselman street, has been wounded in action in the Pacific according to word received from the War Department. The Sioux Cityan, who is a chief machinist’s mate, enlisted in the Navy following his graduation in 1936 from Central high school. He re-enlisted two years ago. He was active in track during his high school years. Relatives here include two sisters, Miss Jean Paulson, 127 Kansas street, and Mrs. Evelyn Berg, 1314 S. Newton street, and two brothers, Clifford, 127 Kansas street, and Albert 2419 Boise street. The last word they received directly from their brother was two months ago.

Carl D. Paulson, a native of Sioux City, Iowa, who served twenty years with the United States Navy, he served in World War II. Carl retired from the Navy as a Warrant Officer. He was the husband of Dolores Sitzmann. They became the parents of one son, Thomas C. Paulson.
Carl and Dolores moved to LeMars, Iowa, after Carl retired from the Navy. He joined the Northwest Iowa Power Co-op and retired twenty-five years later as Executive Vice-President and General Manager of the Co-op. Carl died January 24, 1985.
