Service Man Is Killed In Accident
Signalman’s Mate 3/c William Edward “Bucky” O’Connor, 23, was killed Feb. 25 in a highway accident at San Bruno, Calif. A graduate of Thomas Jefferson high school, he served in the navy for the last two and a half years.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John M. O’Connor, 2212 Avenue A, and four sisters, Lt. Barbara O’Connor with the nurses’ corps stationed at Camp Carson, Col., Mrs. Walter Fish of Dayton, O., and Helen and Joan at home.
The body is being sent to the Beem-Belford funeral home.

William Edward O’Connor was born Mar. 24, 1921 to John Michael and Mary Alberta Hawn O’Connor. He died Feb. 25, 1945 and is buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Dunlap, IA.
