VISITING PARENTS
Pvt. and Mrs. Carl E. Nielsen are visiting at the home of the latter’s’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Munchrath. Pvt. Nielsen is stationed at Fort Knox, Ky. Upon completion of his furlough, he will report to Fort Meade, Md.

Reports Local Youth Killed
The war department has announced that Pvt. Carl E. Nielsen, serving in a tank battalion of the American 1st army, was killed in action in Germany on Nov. 22. His wife resides with her parents on Star route.
Pvt. Nielsen had been in the service since August, 1943, and had been overseas since April of that year. He had served in campaigns in Belgium, France and Germany, and had been awarded the unit presidential citation merited by his group on D-day.
Besides his widow, he is survived by his father, H. P. Nielsen, of Seattle, Wash., and a sister, Mrs. Gene F. Rotunson of Ventura, Calif.
