Lt. G. McLaughlin Listed As Missing
Lt. George A. McLaughlin, son of Mrs. Margaret McLaughlin, 1602 Court street, is missing in action as of December 17, according to word received by his mother from the War Department. He was serving with the field artillery in the Seventh division of the Third Army and was stationed in Germany.
Lt. McLaughlin was born in Sioux City and attended the public schools here. He was graduated from high school at Wall Lake, Ia. He enlisted in the Army in 1939, and was stationed at Fort Lewis, Wash. he received his officer’s training at Fort Sill, Okla. His wife Madeline and 2-year-old daughter Marlene, live in Seattle, Wash.

MAN REPORTED MISSING WRITES
Lt. George McLaughlin, son of Mrs. Margaret McLaughlin, 1602 Court street, who was reported missing in action December 17, apparently didn’t know he was missing, because letters recently written by him to his mother do not mention such an experience.
Lt. McLaughlin’s last letter was dated January 14. He is with the field artillery in the Seventh division of the Third army. His wife and daughter are living in Seattle, Wash.
