Home from England.
RIVERTON—T. Sgt. Duane Manrose has returned home from England after completing 250 combat hours over enemy territory. He has been awarded the air medal with three oak leaf clusters and the distinguished flying cross. Rex Manrose, seaman 1/c, who has just been graduated from the signal and armed guard school at the Great Lakes Naval Station, also has been home, both guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Manrose, south of Riverton.

Donald Rex “Rex" Manrose was born Dec. 20, 1924 to Chester Arthur and Marie L. Watts Manrose. He died Sept. 2009 and is buried in Riverton Cemetery, Riverton, IA.
Petty Officer Manrose served in World War II with the U.S. Navy as a visual signalman. He served aboard the USS Bristol (DD-867).
