Lt. Loran W. Macy

 
 

 

Lt. Loran W. Macy, who served with the air transport command in north Africa and Italy, is spending a 10-day furlough with his mother, Mrs. Mary Brady, 2104 Lemon street.  After going to Dallas, Tex., for a few days, he will report for reassignment at Long Beach, Cal.  Lt. Macy enlisted in the air corps July 15, 1940, following graduation at the highschool at Danbury, Ia.  He was graduated for Ellington field, Tex., and was assigned to ferry command at Dallas.  A year later he was sent overseas.

Lt. Loran W. Macy, son of Mrs. Mary Brady, 2104 S. Lemon Street, is attending a fighter transition school at the Fourth operational training unit of the air transport command’s ferrying division at Greenwood, Miss. After the 30-day course he will return to his station at Long Beach, California to ferry planes to various bases in the United States.
