THREE WAR DEAD BACK for REBURIAL
All Returned From Italian War Zone

The bodies of three Pottawattamie county war dead have been returned to the United States from Italy aboard the army transport Lawrence Victory.

[NOTE: Portions of this article regarding 2nd Lt. Jerry A. Madden, Pvt. William A. Anderson and Pvt. Leslie Cox have been omitted but appear on their individual webpages within this site.]

Cpl. Orlan P. Lembke, son of Mrs. Esther Lembke of Carson will be returned to the McKee funeral home at Carson for burial. Cpl. Lembke was killed in action in Italy Oct. 16. 1943.

Obituaries
Cpl. Orlan P. Lembke

CARSON – Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Wednesday at the Wheeler Grove church for Cpl. Orlan P. Lembke, Carson soldier who was killed in action near Dragoni, Italy, Oct. 16, 1943. The Rev. O. C. Huff of Oakland will officiate. Burial will be in Wheeler Grove cemetery. The American Legion and the Carson Masonic lodge will perform graveside rites. The body will arrive at McKee mortuary at Carson Tuesday night.

Survivors are his mother, Mrs. Ethel Esther Lembke of Carson; five sisters, Mrs. Kenneth Hughes of Carson, Mrs. Paul Wood of Wales, Mrs. Gordon White of Oakland, Mrs. Walter of Clayton of Macedonia and Mrs. Kenneth Williams of Griswold; and three brothers, Virgil Lembke of Cumberland, Calvin Lembke of Griswold and Doyle Lembke of Carson.
