Correctionville, Iowa – Private First Class Verlyn Lamb stationed at Chanute field, Rantoul, Illinois, was graduated from special purpose motor vehicle operators school with a diploma of distinction. He also was awarded an expert pistol shot medal.

OUR NEIGHBORS IN THE SERVICES
S. Sgt. Verlyn L. Lamb, formerly of Correctionville, recently awarded the purple heart for wounds received in the European theater of operations, is now recovering at William Beaumont general hospital, El Paso, Tex. The husband of Mrs. Ruth Lamb, Correctionville, Sgt. Lamb served overseas from November, 1943, to December, 1944.
