Estherville Soldier Reported Missing in France Fourth Time
Estherville, Ia.—Special: Pfc. Kenneth Kurtz, son of C. R. Kurtz, Estherville, is missing in action in France, his father has been notified by the War Department. This is the fourth time that Pfc. Kurtz has been reported missing. He wrote his father under date of January 14 that he was back with his unit and okay. He said he had received a package, but had had no other mail from home for two months.

Kenneth Dewitt Kurtz was born May 26, 1922 to Clarence R. and Esther A. Rentz Kurtz. He died Jan. 27, 1980 and is buried in Phelps Cemetery, Decorah, IA.
